Procedures performed by Cosmetic Surgeon Dr. Mehr:

Breast Surgery

Breast Augmentation
Breast augmentation, technically known as augmentation mammoplasty, is a surgical procedure to enhance the size and shape of a woman’s breast. By inserting a breast implant behind each breast, surgeons are able to increase a woman’s bustline by one or more bra cup sizes. The best candidates for breast augmentation are women who are looking for improvement, not perfection, in the way they look.

Breast Lift
Breast lift, or mastopexy, is a surgical procedure to raise and reshape sagging breasts–at least, for a time. (No surgery can permanently delay the effects of gravity.) Mastopexy can also reduce the size of the areola, the darker skin surrounding the nipple. If your breasts are small or have lost volume–for example, after pregnancy–breast implants inserted in conjunction with mastopexy can increase both their firmness and their size.

Breast Reduction
There are several methods of surgery, with varying length and position of scars. What they have in common is the reduction of the breast’s skin envelope, reduction of the volume of fat and glandular tissue that constitutes the breast, reshaping or “coning” of the breast, reduction in the size of the areola (the pigmented area around the nipple), and elevation of the entire breast mound. The details of the surgery and determination of the best method for an individual are fully discussed at the initial consultation with your Beverly Hills cosmetic surgeon.

Facial Surgery

Rhinoplasty
Rhinoplasty, or surgery to reshape the nose in Beverly Hills, is one of the most common of all plastic surgery procedures. Rhinoplasty can reduce or increase the size of your nose, change the shape of the tip or the bridge, narrow the span of the nostrils, or change the angle between your nose and your upper lip. It may also correct a birth defect or injury, and help relieve some breathing problems.

Face Lift
As people age, elastic fibers in the skin decrease and the effects of gravity, exposure to the sun and the stresses of daily life can be seen in their faces. A facelift can make you look younger and fresher, and it may enhance your self-confidence. It can’t give you a completely different look, nor can it actually restore youth itself, but it can give you a more youthful appearance.

Forehead Lift
A forehead lift or “browlift” is a procedure that restores a more youthful, refreshed look to the area above the eyes. The procedure corrects drooping brows and improves the horizontal lines and furrows that can make a person appear angry, sad or tirad

Eyelid Surgery
Eyelid surgery (technically called blepharoplasty) is a procedure to remove fat–usually along with excess skin and muscle from the upper and lower eyelids. Eyelid surgery can correct drooping upper lids and puffy bags below your eyes – features that make you look older and more tired than you feel, and may even interfere with your vision.

Ear Surgery
Ear surgery, or otoplasty, is usually done to set prominent ears back closer to the head or to reduce the size of large ears. For the most part, the operation is done on children between the ages of four and 14. Ears are almost fully grown by age four, and the earlier the surgery, the less teasing and ridicule the child will have to endure. Ear surgery on adults is also possible, and there are generally no additional risks associated with ear surgery on an older patient.

Body Surgery

Liposuction
Liposuction is a procedure that can help sculpt the body by removing unwanted fat from specific areas, including the abdomen, hips, buttocks, thighs, knees, upper arms, chin, cheeks and neck. During the past two decades, liposuction, which is also known as “lipoplasty” or “suction lipectomy,” has benefited from several new refinements. Today, a number of new techniques, including ultrasound-assisted lipoplasty (UAL), the tumescent technique, and the super-wet technique, are helping many plastic surgeons to provide selected patients with more precise results and quicker recovery times. Although no type of liposuction is a substitute for dieting and exercise, liposuction can remove stubborn areas of fat that don’t respond to traditional weight-loss methods.

Tummy Tuck
Abdominoplasty, known more commonly as a “tummy tuck,” is a major surgical procedure to remove excess skin and fat from the middle and lower abdomen and to tighten the muscles of the abdominal wall. The tummy tuck procedure can dramatically reduce the appearance of a protruding abdomen. But it does produce a permanent scar, which, depending on the extent of the original problem and the surgery required to correct it, can extend from hip to hip.

Body Lift
There are enormous benefits to weight loss. Cholesterol and diabetes control and decrease in the incidence of heart, peripheral vascular disease, and cancer.
The down side to significant weight loss in adults is hanging skin. The chest, back, flanks, abdomen, arms and thighs may show excess wrinkled skin. These areas can be treated with appropriate body lift techniques. This is extensive surgery and should be done by Beverly Hills cosmetic surgeon, Dr. Mehr.
